WESTERN ASSOCIATION FOOTBALL CLUB

MEMBERS CODE OF CONDUCT

This document is for the benefit of all players and members of the Western Association Football Club. Its purpose is to ensure all members are aware of their responsibility towards their fellow club and team members and realize the values and rules that are agreed upon are for the good of all.

When you register to play with Western AFC (or you register your child to play), you become a member of our Club with all the rights and responsibilities of membership

Western Association Football Club is an Incorporated Society with a Constitution that sets out the Club’s rules. One of those rules is that all members will abide by the Club’s Code of Conduct

Our Club is run by volunteers who all give up their time and energy to ensure the Club operates efficiently. We, therefore, expect all of our members to contribute towards making our Club successful both on and off the field.

Here are some of the ways in which we expect our members to help:

Junior players and parents

  • take part in team photos
  • attend prizegiving
  • assist with working bees at the beginning and end of the season
  • help with sausage sizzles and other fundraisers
  • support Club day and Club Rooms where appropriate
  • support our Senior Men’s and Women’s teams at home games

Senior players

  • attend Club Rooms regularly (at least once a month)
  • attend the end of year prizegiving and social functions
  • support our Junior and Youth teams by helping with coaching or mentoring

All members

  • register using the NZ Football COMET system
  • pay subs (and misconduct fines) promptly
  • take responsibility for club equipment and club facilities clean and tidy
  • return playing strips and any other club equipment at the end of the season
  • support our sponsors and partners by supporting their businesses (e.g. having end-of-season celebrations at venues that support our club)
